About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Cloud IT Engineer with strong knowledge of automation and great flexibility and initiative.
The role will head up management of CMR’s internal IT infrastructure with a focus on automation, endpoint management and Infrastructure as Code. Working with a small IT team with a lot of your own initiative, you’ll implement new infrastructure, manage automation and take friction away from IT support. Our goal is always to improve the end-user experience.
This role is offered on a hybrid basis, with a minimum of 3 days a week being based in the office.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and support IT AWS infrastructure (EC2, S3, DynamoDB, VPC, RDS, IAM)
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Packer using CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Build and maintain AWS Lambda functions to automate operational tasks, integrations, and event-driven workflows.
- Automate provisioning, deployments, and routine management activities.
- Support Microsoft 365 services (Intune, Exchange Online, Entra ID/Azure AD, Teams).
- Collaborate with IT team and internal customers to support delivery and continuous improvement.
- Support and maintain basic on-premise Windows Server and Active Directory environments, including patching and upgrades.
We’d expect you to be willing to turn your hand to anything within the IT Infrastructure remit that helps the team deliver its objectives.
About youTo be successful in this role, you’ll need to have/be:
Essential
- AWS experience in production environments including Infrastructure as Code
- Experience with AWS Lambda automation
- Scripting/automation experience with Python and PowerShell
- Basic Microsoft 365, Windows Server and Active Directory administration
Desirable
- AWS certification
- Awareness of physical networking fundamentals
- Familiarity with Atlassian Jira and Confluence
- Node.js, TeamCity, Chocolatey package management experience
