Our client, a well-established engineering and manufacturing company supplying specialised equipment to global industrial markets, is looking for a proactive Supplier Quality Engineer to join the busy supply chain team. You will work directly with suppliers to improve performance, validate new partners and support purchasing and logistics activities. This role is ideal for someone with strong supplier management experience and a passion for continuous improvement.
The responsibilities of the Supplier Quality Engineer include but are not limited to:
- Conduct supplier audits and validate new suppliers to ensure compliance and capability.
- Manage and close supplier non-compliances to drive improvement in quality and delivery performance.
- Process purchase orders and support materials management through the ERP system.
- Expedite supplier deliveries and coordinate with logistics partners to optimise cost and efficiency.
- Identify and assess new suppliers to strengthen the supply base.
Skills, Experience & Key Candidate Attributes of the Supplier Quality Engineer:
- HNC or equivalent in a technical discipline.
- Minimum 3 years’ hands-on ERP experience, demonstrating a strong understanding of Warehouse/Materials Management & Planning functions.
- Proficiency in supplier scorecards, vendor management and continuous improvement methods.
- Strong computer literacy and analytical capability.
- Full UK driving licence, ability to travel and confidence working with suppliers on site.
Hours: 8:00am – 4:30pm Monday – Thursday, 8:00am – 1:30pm Friday.
