We are currently recruiting for an experienced Payroll Coordinator to join a well-established and growing business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong payroll background who is looking to join a friendly, professional team and take responsibility for ensuring payroll is processed accurately and efficiently.

The Role

As Payroll Coordinator, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely administration of payroll across the business. You will work closely with colleagues and management to ensure payroll information is maintained correctly and all employees are paid accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process monthly payroll accurately and within agreed deadlines
  • Maintain accurate employee payroll records
  • Process starters, leavers, salary changes and other employee amendments
  • Calculate statutory payments, deductions and adjustments
  • Administer pensions, PAYE and National Insurance
  • Process payroll queries and resolve discrepancies promptly
  • Complete payroll reconciliations and checks
  • Prepare payroll reports and provide information to management when required
  • Liaise with HMRC and other relevant external bodies
  • Ensure payroll processes comply with current legislation
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information
  • Support with payroll-related administration and general finance duties as required

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience working within a payroll environment and be confident managing payroll processes from start to finish. You will be:

  • Experienced in payroll administration
  • Highly accurate and detail-focused
  • Comfortable working to strict deadlines
  • Confident using Microsoft Excel and payroll systems
  • Knowledgeable in PAYE, National Insurance, pensions and statutory deductions
  • Able to handle confidential information professionally
  • A strong communicator with excellent organisational skills
  • Proactive, reliable and able to work independently
  • Comfortable working as part of a wider finance/administration team
