This is a relationship-led role combining business development, product knowledge and an existing network within the recruitment and/or commercial finance sectors.
We are not necessarily looking for someone with extensive senior-level experience.
We are open to ambitious, up-and-coming individuals who have built a strong foundation in business development, commercial finance or recruitment and are ready to take the next step into a regional BDM position.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new business opportunities across the North, particularly the North West.
- Build and maintain relationships with recruitment agency owners and senior decision-makers.
- Identify recruitment businesses that could benefit from invoice finance and wider funding solutions.
- Develop relationships with brokers, accountants, introducers and professional advisers.
- Manage opportunities from initial introduction through to conversion and onboarding.
- Understand client requirements and confidently explain appropriate funding and financial solutions.
- Build and manage a strong regional pipeline.
- Attend client meetings, networking events, exhibitions and relevant industry events.
- Work closely with internal credit, underwriting, operations and account management teams.

- Business Development
- Proven ability to generate and develop new business.
- Strong relationship-building and networking skills.
- Commercially driven and comfortable working towards targets.
- Confident engaging with business owners and senior decision-makers.
- Able to identify opportunities rather than relying solely on inbound leads.

- Invoice Finance
- Recruitment Finance
- Commercial Finance
- Asset Finance
- Business Lending
- Specialist Lending
Alternatively, strong experience within the temporary recruitment sector, with a good understanding of recruitment agency cash flow and funding requirements, could also be relevant.
Network
An existing network within the recruitment, finance or professional services sectors would be advantageous.
This could include relationships with
- Recruitment agency owners
- Commercial finance brokers
- Accountants
- Introducers
- Professional advisers
- Other recruitment-sector contacts
We are more interested in the quality and relevance of someone's network than simply the number of years they have worked in the industry.
This is a particularly good opportunity for someone who is ambitious, commercially minded and ready to progress.
You do not need to have spent 10–15 years in a senior BDM position — if you have the right foundations, product understanding, relationships and ambition, we'd like to hear from you.
The Role
This is a regional position, with the focus primarily on the North West and wider Northern England.
The successful candidate will have the freedom to develop their own regional network and pipeline, while working closely with an experienced internal team to convert opportunities and deliver growth.
The role would suit someone who enjoys being out in the market, meeting people, building relationships and winning new business, but who also understands the importance of product knowledge and working collaboratively with internal teams.
If you have the commercial ability, relevant product knowledge and relationships to make an impact, we'd like to hear from you.
