A Strategic Leadership Role
An established and growing accountancy practice is entering an exciting phase of strategic expansion. With a strong and expanding portfolio of audit clients, we are seeking an ambitious Audit Manager to join the business in a key leadership position to help shape and lead the audit function through its next stage of growth. This is a high-visibility role where you will work closely with senior leadership to develop audit methodologies and take ownership of a high-quality client portfolio.
The Role
- Lead the planning and execution of complex audit assignments, including group consolidations and owner-managed businesses.
- Take full ownership of audit assignments from initial planning and risk assessment through to final completion.
- Act as the primary on-site contact for clients, resolving queries independently where possible.
- Deliver high-quality, review-ready audit files with minimal senior-level intervention.
- Manage a flexible portfolio, with the opportunity to focus purely on audit or combine audit work with statutory accounts preparation and tax.
- Oversee resource allocation and team capacity within the audit department to ensure seamless client delivery.
- Act as a key technical point of contact, supporting compliance with UK GAAP and maintaining high professional standards.
About You
- ACA or ACCA qualified, with proven experience at Manager or Assistant Manager level.
- Ambitious and growth-minded, with a desire to influence how a department is structured and developed.
- Strong technical audit background, particularly with owner-managed businesses.
- Comfortable with the hands-on nature of working within a growing practice environment.
- Able to travel to client premises, including occasional overnight stays where required.
- Full UK driving licence required for client site visits.
