We are partnering with a fast-growing business operating within the construction and logistics space that is entering an exciting phase of growth. As part of this journey, the company is strengthening and professionalising its finance function and is looking to appoint an ambitious finance professional who is keen to progress. This is a rare opportunity to step into a broad, hands-on finance role with a clearly defined pathway toward a senior finance leadership position as the business continues to scale. The role can initially be offered on a part-time basis if required, with a planned transition to full-time in the near term.

The organisation provides specialist logistics and site support services to large contractors and developers across the UK. Rapid growth has outpaced the existing finance structure, creating the need for a finance lead who can take ownership of day-to-day operations while helping to build a more robust financial framework. A key upcoming milestone is the implementation of a new accounting system, and the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting and embedding this change.

This is a broad operational finance position with genuine ownership from day one. Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing day-to-day accounting activities
  • Payroll oversight and financial controls
  • Supporting system migration and process improvement
  • Producing accurate financial reporting and records
  • Assisting with cashflow management and forecasting
  • Identifying and implementing efficiencies as the function scales
  • Acting as the internal finance lead as the business grows

The role is intentionally designed to evolve, offering long-term progression into a senior finance leadership role for the right individual.

About You:

  • 3–5 years' experience in an accounting or finance role
  • Strong hands-on bookkeeping and accounting capability
  • Experience with construction or project-based accounting software is advantageous but not essential
  • Ambitious early- to mid-career professional
  • Commercial mindset with a practical, solutions-focused approach
  • Comfortable operating in a growing, less structured SME environment
  • Positive, proactive attitude with a strong sense of ownership
  • Formal qualifications are welcomed but not essential — mindset and capability are key
