We're working with a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Cheshire that is looking to add an Accountant to their team. This is a great opportunity for someone with practice experience who enjoys working with a varied portfolio of SME clients and is looking to continue developing their career within a supportive firm. The Role
As an Accountant, you'll play a key role in supporting a portfolio of clients across different industries. The role offers a good mix of technical work and client interaction, making it ideal for someone who wants to build their experience and grow within practice.
Key responsibilities:
- Preparation of year-end statutory accounts
- Corporation tax computations
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns
- Self-assessment tax returns
- Supporting clients with day-to-day accounting queries
- Liaising with clients and building strong working relationships
- Assisting senior staff and partners with ad-hoc assignments
About You
We're keen to speak with candidates who have experience working within an accountancy practice and are looking for the next step in their career. You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience working in an accountancy practice
- Experience preparing accounts for SMEs
- Strong knowledge of VAT, tax, and statutory accounts
- AAT qualified / ACCA or ACA part-qualified or qualified (or qualified by experience)
- Good communication and organisational skills
- A proactive attitude and ambition to progress within a firm
