This hybrid role combines field-based site visits with office-based underwriting support. You will assess potential borrowers at their business premises to support lending decisions, as well as analyse applications and financial information internally. The role requires strong commercial awareness, risk assessment ability, and confident client-facing communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site visits to assess prospective borrowers and their businesses
- Evaluate director behaviour, business operations, and sector risk
- Gather and verify key documentation to support lending decisions
- Identify and escalate risks or concerns
- Present findings and recommendations to management
- Build and maintain professional relationships with business directors
- Arrange and manage visit logistics directly with applicants
Underwriting Support
- Support underwriting activities when not on site visits
- Analyse financial information including income, accounts, and collateral
- Assess creditworthiness and lending risk
- Ensure completion of required documentation and ID verification
- Maintain accurate records using CRM systems
Compliance & Communication
- Follow internal lending policies and regulatory requirements
- Communicate clearly with applicants throughout the process
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of lending products and standards
- Deliver a high standard of professionalism and customer service
Requirements
- Experience or strong understanding of commercial lending and credit risk
