Job Title: Account Manager Job Type: Permanent | Full-time Salary: £35,000 base salary commission (OTE up to £50,000 per year) Location: Remote and Client Site Visits Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 6:00pm Benefits Company pension Private medical insurance Health & wellbeing programme Hybrid working / work from home Overview We are looking for a proactive, commercially minded, and customer-focused Accounting Software Account Manager to manage and grow our existing client base while supporting new business development. This hybrid role combines account management, customer success, and sales responsibilities , making it ideal for someone who enjoys building long-term client relationships, helping businesses maximise the value of accounting technology, and contributing directly to revenue growth. You will act as a trusted advisor to clients – ensuring strong adoption, satisfaction, and retention, while identifying opportunities to expand accounts and win new business. Key Responsibilities Client Account Management & Customer Success Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of existing clients Onboard new clients and support successful implementation of accounting software Deliver client training on system functionality, best practices, and new features Identify client needs, usage gaps, and opportunities to improve value Manage renewals, upselling, and cross-selling activities Work closely with support and implementation teams to resolve client issues efficiently Sales & Business Development Support the full sales cycle, including lead qualification, product demonstrations, proposals, negotiation, and closing Identify opportunities for account expansion and new business growth Deliver tailored product demonstrations to clients and prospects Prepare quotations, proposals, and contracts Maintain accurate pipeline and activity records within the CRM system Product & Market Knowledge Develop strong knowledge of accounting software, integrations, and use cases Stay up to date with developments in accounting, finance, and technology Provide client feedback to internal teams to support product improvements Background & Qualifications Degree educated or equivalent experience (Accounting or Finance desirable but not essential) Part-qualified or fully qualified (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent) desirable Good understanding of core accounting principles, including: Bookkeeping Management accounts Financial reporting Technical & Systems Skills Experience using accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage , or similar platforms Strong general IT skills and ability to learn new systems quickly Comfortable working with cloud-based platforms and digital workflows Understanding of how technology improves efficiency and reporting in accounting processes Ideal Candidate This role would suit someone who: Enjoys working with clients and building long-term relationships Has a commercial mindset and is comfortable working towards targets Is confident demonstrating software and explaining technical concepts Wants to combine accounting knowledge with sales and client management Application Questions Do you have at least 2 years’ experience working with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)?
