Do you thrive in a fast paced environment? CML are looking for a Works Delivery Manager, with a strong background in Civil Engineering to join our established team in Wigan.
Your Responsibilities
- Management of multiple Network Rail and rail related infrastructure contracts, including planned and reactive works.
- Reporting to CML’s Senior Project Manager in Wigan, working on projects throughout the North West & Central Region.
- Excellent understanding of design drawings and commercial awareness of cost monitoring and cost value reconciliation.
- Liaising with the Client on a day-to-day basis to maintain and develop client relationships based on mutual trust and high standards.
- High involvement in the planning of the works programme.
- Managing up to 3 teams on site, visiting site approximately 3 times a week.
- Providing guidance and practical advice to site personnel for the competent execution of the contract works.
- Promoting and implementing site specific management plans to ensure compliance with CML Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Policies.
- Preparing site works package plans and contract plans to meet the Client’s requirements and specifications.
- Liaising with the Contracts Manager and Commercial team regarding estimates or technical queries.
- Acceptance, control and reconciliation of temporary and permanent works materials and equipment necessary to achieve the contract works.
- Reviewing completed works with the Site Supervisor, ensuring all works are completed and that all project documentation is present and correct.
- Processing the requisition of major items of temporary and permanent works materials, sub-contractors, plant and equipment necessary for contract delivery.
Person Specification
- Experience of the CAM Framework preferred; railway, management and construction experience (including smaller value projects of multiple disciplines: structures, drainage, earthworks) would be preferable.
- HNC/HND at Level 4/5 in Construction or proven industry experience – Essential.
- Proven experience of working on the Railway – Essential.
- Railway Safety Training (PTS/ COSS) – Essential.
- SMSTS – Essential.
- Experience of Cost Monitoring – Highly desirable.
- SSOW planning – Desirable.
- Strong problem solving skills and a proactive nature.
- The confidence to act on initiative and communicate effectively.
