At CML we are looking for a qualified Skilled Operative with COSS / PIC competency to work on our Network Rail contracts within our established team based in Leeds. Your Responsibilities:
- Working in a safe manner following appropriate procedures and instructions at all times, promoting and supervising the safe working of all team members on site.
- Working on multiple frameworks for Network Rail undertaking railway maintenance work including but not limited to civils and earthworks.
- Undertaking all construction duties as directed, including but not limited to: De-vegetation, scour works, machine and plant operation and drainage.
- Ensuring all vehicles, materials, tools and plant equipment under your control are fit for use and are used, stored and disposed of correctly, with any defects being reported immediately to Health & Safety and Management.
- Correctly using and maintaining all PPE provided and making requests for any replacements where needed.
- Discussing all aspects of your work with the General Foreman/ Site Manager where you feel safety can be improved.
- Mentoring General Operatives and less experienced team members in work tasks.
- Assisting with administering site paperwork as directed, for daily and weekly submissions to Head Office.
- Encouraging collaboration within your team in order to utilise skill sets, ensuring all deadlines are met effectively.
- Attending work promptly and properly equipped.
- Any other duties as may be reasonably required.
Person Specification:
- PTS – Essential
- COSS – Essential
- Experience in general construction in Civil Engineering and Rail sector – Essential
- The ability and willingness to regularly work away from home, as well as on nights and weekends – Essential
- SSSTS - Highly Desirable
- Advantageous qualifications and experience in: CSCS, PASMA, IPAF, First Aid, small tools, de-vegetation, scour works, 360 Excavator Operator, Dumper Driver, drainage, plant operator, confined spaces.
