Job Description: We are looking for professional HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our CML team in Telford, supporting our Long-Life Chilled operation and delivering to key retail customers across the UK. This is a permanent night driving role offering full-time stability and the opportunity to be part of a trusted logistics operation. You will be joining a supportive transport team where safe driving, reliable service, and high professional standards are valued every day.
- Shift patterns available:
- 4 on 4 off Nights (start times between 18:00 - 03:00)
- 5 on 3 off Nights (start times between 18:00 - 03:00)
Due to the nature of the products being delivered, our drivers will have 3-hour start windows to ensure flexibility depending on volume. Our HGV Drivers have strong earning potential, with OTE earnings ranging from £41,756 to £52,000 depending on shift pattern, overtime, and applicable allowances.
- Responsibilities include:
- Carrying out safe, professional deliveries to customer premises across the UK.
- Completing nationwide deliveries to Regional Distribution Centres.
- Loading and unloading where required using PPT equipment.
- Reporting to the Transport team at the start of each shift and keeping them updated on delays, delivery issues, or load discrepancies.
- Completing all paperwork accurately and ensuring PODs are signed and returned to the Transport Office.
- Following company procedures, including health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Managing working time in line with the Road Transport Directive and tachograph rules.
- Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting defects correctly, taking responsibility for your unit and trailer, including temperature checks where required.
- Taking advantage of night-out runs where available, if interested.
Requirements:
- Valid C+E Licence.
- Current valid DCPC and Digital Tachograph cards.
- Minimum 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience preferred.
- Newly qualified drivers will be considered if they show the right attitude and willingness to learn.
