Role Overview
As a Product Tester/QA, you will be responsible for conducting full and continuous testing across our product lines. The role requires a blend of technical expertise and a keen eye for detail to ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance. You will work closely with our development team to identify issues, improve functionality, and validate solutions before they are deployed to our global customers.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive testing of CACHEbox, DNSbox, and EDUGATEbox products, ensuring functionality, reliability, and performance.

Design and execute test plans and cases for software and hardware components, including regression, integration, and performance testing.

Collaborate with developers to identify, reproduce, and resolve issues, contributing to robust and scalable solutions.

Develop and implement automated testing processes to streamline QA activities and improve efficiency.

Document and communicate testing results, providing actionable feedback to development and management teams.

Ensure adherence to QA best practices, including version control, issue tracking, and root cause analysis.

Keep abreast of emerging testing tools, methodologies, and technologies to continuously improve the QA function.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
-
A degree in Computing or a related field, or equivalent experience (self-taught candidates with a strong technical foundation and curiosity are welcome).

Technical expertise in networking protocols (HTTP, DNS, DHCP) and Linux-based systems.

Knowledge of web application technologies (HTML, JavaScript, CSS).

Knowledge of automation tools and frameworks such as Python’s unittest and Selenium

Good collaboration and communication skills to liaise with technical and support teams.

A proactive approach to problem-solving with a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes.
Desirable:

Experience with open-source tools and frameworks such as Squid, ISC Kea, and nginx.

Exposure to hardware testing and knowledge of component selection processes.

Experience in testing and troubleshooting complex software systems, including caching or DNS services.

Strong skills in Python, with experience in developing or contributing to test automation.

Understanding of AI tools and their application in testing automation.

Proven track record in introducing QA improvements, including automated testing.
The role is based in Coventry, UK, and while we prefer candidates who can regularly attend the office, we are open to considering remote options.
