Join our global Data Reliability Engineering (DRE) team and help ensure our database systems are reliable, fast, and scalable. You will learn to maintain and enhance the reliability, integrity, and performance of our data footprint across relational, NoSQL, and analytical platforms such as PostgreSQL, Cloud SQL, Spanner, and BigQuery.
Responsibilities
- Monitor system health metrics under guidance of senior team members to learn proactive incident management.
- Assist in resolving database‑related incidents, diagnose basic infrastructure issues, and conduct root‑cause analysis.
- Support tracking of performance metrics to ensure database speed and uptime meet application needs.
- Learn Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and CI/CD pipelines to safely manage database structures across environments.
- Contribute to automated database provisioning and schema migrations using tools like Flyway.
- Maintain clear, up‑to‑date documentation for data systems, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or related field.
- Approx. 1–2 years of experience, including industrial placement, internship, or complex academic project work.
- Foundational knowledge of relational and NoSQL database concepts.
- Ability to write or modify basic scripts in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for operational automation tasks.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
- Baseline exposure to cloud computing frameworks; GCP experience is a strong plus.
- Enthusiasm for continuous learning aligned with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices and emerging data technologies.
