Job Description
The Network Operations Engineer II will support CME’s network infrastructure through monitoring, troubleshooting and change implementation, using industry‑standard best practices.
This role ensures the ongoing operation of service to end users and customers, maintains agreed service levels, and supports overall platform stability and delivery to clients and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as first responder, organizing and controlling incident response.
- Perform day‑to‑day monitoring and management of platforms to meet internal SLAs, operational KPIs and quality standards.
- Handle technical support issues of simple to medium complexity.
- Support network faults to conclusion in a multi‑vendor, multi‑appliance infrastructure.
- Collaborate with other IT teams, vendors, and service providers to resolve incidents and service requests.
- Execute day‑to‑day technical operations, including network and firewall troubleshooting, scripting changes, infrastructure and firmware updates.
- Maintain a positive attitude and a high level of customer service at all times.
- Contribute to the overall development of operational systems and processes.
- Maintain accurate troubleshooting records through industry‑standard ticketing systems.
- Write technical SOPs and other documentation.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in a fast‑paced, enterprise NOC role (minimum second‑line).
Support experience of LAN & WAN technologies.
- Exposure to firewalls; understanding of security posture (firewalling, ACLs, industry best practice, internet architectures).
- Experience with VPN technologies: IPSec and SSL.
- Understanding of wireless technologies.
- Experience with ISO and ITIL standards.
- Experience supporting or working with cloud technologies.
- Enterprise firewall certification (Palo Alto, Fortinet, etc.).
- Toolset management experience (Solar Winds or similar).
- Wireshark Certified Analyst (WCA) or experience with hardware‑based packet capture systems.
