Overview

In this role, you will lead the external Data & Analytics (DA) API and distribution strategy, acting as the technical bridge between CMEG APIs and customers. You’ll craft SDKs and delivery mechanisms, translate feedback into requirements, and simplify integration for clients. You’ll shape a unified, developer-first API experience that accelerates adoption across real-time and historical data. This position blends engineering, product insight, and customer engagement to turn data into actionable insights.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a high-performance Python SDK to deliver a seamless, one-line-to-insight experience
  • Create and publish open-source SDKs in Python, C++, and other languages
  • Design and operate a public schema registry (Protobuf/JSON/Avro) for client software generation
  • Lead API documentation, tutorials, samples, and dashboards to speed customer value
  • Collaborate on data plane abstractions and a centralized schema registry for consistent data models
  • Support authentication modernization, telemetry, and CI/CD pipelines for API publishing
  • Coordinate API lifecycle governance (GitHub, CI/CD, versioning) and testing across services
  • Conduct cross-functional API audits to reduce fragmentation and improve UX

  • Cloud-native experience building SDKs and APIs
  • Expert Python programming
  • Experience with cloud platforms and API tooling (GCP, Apigee)
  • Proficiency with GitHub, Protobuf/Avro, OAuth 2.0, SQL
  • Familiarity with data delivery across multiple latency tiers and data types
  • Strong communication skills bridging business, engineering, and technical writing
