Develop Software Engineering skills to fast track your career!

Will you be graduating in the summer of 2026 with a degree in Computer Science or similar discipline? Are you looking for structured growth, an environment to thrive in, and a career that can go in many directions?

CME Group is looking for bright graduates interested in supporting the development and reliable operations of market leading financial services products. We seek critical thinkers and creative problem solvers who want to take their engineering skills to the next level. Successful graduates will join our Technology Department next summer and receive first-class training & mentoring.

What is it like to be an engineer at CME Group?

Our roles span across Software Engineering, Platform Engineering and Reliability Engineering. Our engineers build platforms and systems that have rock-solid reliability, perform at speed and scale, and seamlessly facilitate the busiest trading days in the global economy. We work in a flexible, modern, agile methodology. We believe in “DevTestOps” engineering & reliability practices that enable effective collaboration and the ability to deliver with impact, scale and discipline.

How will I develop?

Technology continuously evolves and our engineers ensure our systems stay at the cutting-edge. Graduate engineers will receive training on topics like Java, Cloud Computing (GCP), and Modern Testing techniques. Opportunities exist for professional certifications.

What kind of work will I do?

In their first year, graduate engineers rotate across teams, build their professional network, work on different tech stacks, and experience different processes. They build an understanding of what it means to be a Software Engineer vs. a Reliability Engineer vs. a Platform Engineer. By the end of the year, engineers will understand what they enjoy most, and have skills to tackle the next stage of their career.

Entry Requirements

  • On track for a 2:2 or higher degree in computer science (please share module / year results achieved so far)
  • Or, an MSc in software development
