The Information Governance (IG) intern will gain valuable experience in a range of key areas, including Records and Information Management, Confidentiality, Privacy, eDiscovery, and Incident Management. The intern will work closely with the team and be involved in conducting a variety of assessments. These assessments cover a broad scope, including new initiatives, technology migrations, system decommissions, third-party vendor reviews, and the evaluation of permission and access controls.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Assist with evaluating data management capabilities through assessments to ensure compliance with established company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Document and address vulnerabilities and risks related to data management by providing remediation solutions.
- Support Information Governance initiatives through data collection, analysis, and documentation.
- Contribute to projects focused on Information Governance topics that keep our data safe.
- Assist with updating policies, guidelines, and standard operating procedures.
- Support the Information Governance team by learning and completing operational processes.
- Assist the team with data analysis and updating data processing and record inventories.
- Complete quality assurance activities related to Information Governance business processes.
- Prepare and develop organizational awareness and training materials.
Skills / Software Requirements:
- Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates critical thinking and initiative when working with limited direction.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office product suites.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
- Creative thinking and effective problem solving skills.
- Ability to perform research, compile findings, and organize and structure data effectively.
- Ability to understand and absorb business & risk concepts quickly.
- Ability to work with individuals at all levels within the organization.

Education:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (Information Technology, Law, Business or related field) with a year in industry 2026-7.
Other Requirements:
- Local to Belfast as you’ll be expected to be in the office three days per week.
