My client, a well-established organisation, is seeking a Transport Supervisor to join their Bristol-based team. Working closely with the management team, you will play a key role in overseeing daily transport activities, supporting drivers, maintaining compliance standards, and ensuring operational efficiency across the fleet.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all transport legislation, health and safety requirements, and company policies, including tachograph management and vehicle defect reporting.
  • Support the planning and optimisation of daily vehicle routes to maximise productivity and minimise downtime.
  • Monitor driver performance, attendance, and productivity, providing coaching and support where required.
  • Conduct investigations relating to vehicle incidents, accidents, and employee conduct issues.
  • Liaise with drivers, operational teams, and customers to ensure service levels are maintained.
  • Oversee vehicle, equipment, and site standards, ensuring operational readiness at all times.
  • Maintain accurate transport documentation, reports, and compliance records.
  • Assist with credit control processes and support wider business performance objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
Person Specification
  • Previous experience within a Transport Supervisor, Logistics Supervisor, Fleet Supervisor, Transport Planner, or similar operational role is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of transport legislation, fleet compliance, and driver management.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships across multiple departments.
  • Experience managing and motivating teams within a fast-paced operational environment.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy when completing reports and documentation.
  • Good IT skills, including experience using transport management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem-solving.

Working hours for this role are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.00 am - 5.00 pm.
