Full-time | Permanent

We are currently recruiting for a Health & Safety Advisor to join a growing manufacturing business, supporting the Head of QHSE in maintaining a safe, compliant, and high-performing working environment.

This is a key role where you will act as the first point of contact for all Health & Safety matters, helping to drive a strong safety culture across the business.

The Role

You will play a hands-on role in ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation, while actively supporting continuous improvement across site operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safe systems of work
  • Investigate accidents, near misses, and non-conformities
  • Manage COSHH assessments and control hazardous substances
  • Oversee PPE selection, issue, and training
  • Manage contractor activities, including RAMS and permits to work
  • Coordinate inspection, servicing, and testing of equipment (including PAT testing)
  • Support DSE assessments for employees
  • Carry out internal audits, HSE inspections, and environmental monitoring
  • Support ISO management systems and compliance activities

About You

  • Proven experience in a similar Health & Safety role
  • Strong knowledge of ISO45001 / OHSAS18001
  • Recognised H&S qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3, IOSH)
  • Experience conducting audits and investigations
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and systems
  • Proactive, organised, and able to influence at all levels

Desirable:

  • IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 and ISO14001
