Managing the procurement of products and services. Your primary goal will be to meet agreed delivery dates from the order book while minimising costs and stock holding.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimise stock value without compromising customer service or manufacturing efficiency.
- Utilise your engineering-based manufacturing skills to source alternative, more competitive suppliers and materials.
- Collaborate with the Manufacturing team to resolve issues affecting efficiency and deliveries.
- Continuously evaluate the parts and supplier base, mitigating any risks to the company.
- Review supplier performance, negotiate best terms, and ensure alignment with current and future requirements via the MRP system.
- Regularly assess outstanding purchase orders with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery.
- Maintain supplier approval files, including supply problems, product defects, and NCRs, with reference to the company's Quality Manual.
- Ensure material and finished goods physical stock (excluding WIP) movements are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
- Generate monthly and year-end stock reports and manage Year-end Stock Take.
- Oversee MRP processes and associated purchasing and works orders.
- Assist in the placement of all capital plant and machinery purchases, ensuring best value and compliance.
- Manage documentation for the export of products and import of parts, adhering to EU and rest of the world requirements.
- Compile and submit a monthly management report to the Operations Manager.
