Maintenance Mechanical Engineer
Location: Melksham, Wiltshire
Salary: 40 – 43K including shift allowance
Hours: 38 hours per week
Shift Pattern: 3 shifts – 06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00 / 22:00-06:00
We are currently recruiting for a skilled Maintenance Mechanical Engineer on behalf of a well-established and forward-thinking manufacturing business based in Melksham.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable company on a permanent basis, working as part of a close-knit engineering team providing mechanical maintenance and support across site. The successful candidate will bring strong experience in plant maintenance and a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Key Duties include:
- Carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance on production machines
- Diagnosing faults in hydraulic and pneumatic systems using schematics
- Completing mechanical PMIs, tool changes, and routine equipment safety checks
- Supporting minor installations and contributing to continuous improvement projects
- Maintaining facilities equipment including boilers, compressors, pumps, extraction units, and air handling systems
- Assisting with the management of mould tools, ensuring readiness for production
- Accurate job logging using Maintenance Connect
- Supporting Kaizen activities and TPM processes
- Collaborating with electrical team when required
- Covering for holidays and occasionally providing night shift support
What We\’re Looking For:
- Recognised Mechanical Apprenticeship
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years\’ plant maintenance experience
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, fabrication, and machining
- Good communication and teamworking skills
- Flexible and proactive approach to training and development
