The Opportunity: Join a leading UK manufacturer of specialist products and drive sales in a considered yet high-impact role. We are looking for a motivated Sales Manager to grow a specialist sector, focusing on the public sector. If you excel at building relationships, exceeding targets, and delivering top-tier customer service, this is your chance to shine.
Remuneration: Circa 35,000. Fully funded company car including personal use, laptop, and phone.
What You'll Do:
- Drive sales and secure new projects through proactive specification sales.
- Maximise product sales by providing expert sales and technical support to clients and colleagues to meet annual budgets.
- Develop a strategy to promote our products via specifier meetings, client visits, and tracking tools like Barbour's Building Projects software.
- Deliver outstanding customer service, resolving queries quickly and handling tenders to maintain our reputation as trusted experts.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets while maintaining strong margins, managing sales funnels, and producing reports.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders, including constructors, architects, engineers, facilities providers, and private care providers.
- Use the CRM system to raise quotes, follow up on enquiries, and ensure timely contract reviews.
- Collaborate with Marketing on strategies, contribute to social media, and suggest process improvements.
- Occasionally attend exhibitions, conduct market research, or assist with staff training/cover as needed.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in specification sales, from construction or built environment, with a focus on exceeding targets.
- Strong communication skills to engage with clients, specifiers, and internal teams.
- Comfortable using CRM systems for quotes, tracking, and customer records.
- Ability to read drawings and specifications to prepare accurate proposals (training can be given).
- Proactive, customer-focused mindset with a drive for continuous improvement.
- Willingness to travel UK-wide for client meetings and events.
