Our client, a well-established precision engineering manufacturer, is looking to recruit a Final Inspector / NDT Technician to join their quality team at their modern manufacturing facility in Bath. The company supplies high-quality precision components to demanding industries and is seeking a detail-focused individual to help ensure finished products meet strict quality and inspection standards before being released to customers.
The Role
Working within the Final Inspection Department, you will be responsible for inspecting and verifying finished components to ensure they meet both customer and internal quality specifications. Key duties will include:
- Carrying out final inspection and testing of precision engineered components
- Performing dimensional inspections using equipment such as micrometers, verniers and gauges
- Conducting visual inspections to identify damage or imperfections
- Completing inspection documentation and quality records
- Preparing parts for dispatch including cleaning, marking and packaging
- Supporting Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) processes including Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (training available)
- Assisting with CMM programming and operation where required (training provided)
- Working closely with quality, production and engineering teams
What We're Looking For
- Experience within a manufacturing or precision engineering inspection environment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience using manual inspection equipment
- Strong attention to detail and quality-focused approach
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
Desirable Experience
- Level 2 Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) or willingness to train
- AS13001 DPRV qualification
- Experience with CMM inspection equipment
- Familiarity with SharePoint or Microsoft Dynamics (D365)
Additional Requirements
- Candidates must not be colour blind due to inspection requirements
- Must be comfortable working with delicate precision components
- A methodical and organised approach to work is essential
