Due to continued growth, they are seeking a skilled CNC Miller Setter Operator to join their modern production facility in Devizes.

This is an excellent opportunity to work with advanced CNC machining centres, producing high-precision components in a clean, professional manufacturing environment.

The Role

Working within the Milling Department, you will be responsible for setting and operating CNC machining centres using Heidenhain and Siemens controls, ensuring components are manufactured to exacting standards and tight tolerances. You will play a key role in maintaining quality, productivity, and continuous improvement whilst working as part of an experienced and supportive engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and operate CNC milling machines using approved programs and manufacturing methods
  • Produce precision-engineered components to engineering drawings and specifications
  • Perform first-off, in-process and final inspection activities
  • Use a range of measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers, VMRs and CMMs
  • Accurately complete route cards, inspection documentation and ERP system transactions
  • Carry out routine machine checks and report maintenance issues when required
  • Maintain high standards of quality, housekeeping and workplace organisation
  • Work closely with Supervisors and colleagues to ensure production targets are achieved
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety procedures and company standards

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Previous experience as a CNC Miller Setter Operator
  • Experience working with Heidenhain and/or Siemens controls
  • A recognised engineering apprenticeship or time-served engineering background
  • Strong understanding of precision machining and manufacturing processes
  • Experience working to tight tolerances within a precision engineering environment
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience using inspection and measuring equipment
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • A positive attitude and strong team ethic

Working Hours

Rotating double-day shift pattern:

  • Early Shift: Monday - Thursday: 6:00am - 2:30pm, Friday: 6:00am - 11:00am
  • Late Shift: Monday - Thursday: 2:30pm - 11:00pm, Friday: 11:00am - 4:00pm
