Are you an experienced Operations Manager with a strong background in fulfilment, logistics or warehouse operations? We're working with a successful and growing organisation that is looking for a results-driven Operations Manager to take responsibility for its Outbound Operations function. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll be responsible for managing a team of around 10 permanent employees, alongside agency workers during peak periods, while driving operational efficiency, service quality and continuous improvement.
The role will include:
- Leading and developing the Outbound Operations team
- Managing an annual departmental budget of approximately £600k
- Monitoring KPIs, SLAs and operational performance
- Developing and improving SOPs covering inventory, fulfilment and quality control
- Managing stock accuracy, segregation and client ownership controls
- Supporting new client onboarding, product introductions and stock transitions
- Recruiting, coaching, mentoring and managing team members
- Ensuring compliance with health & safety, legislation and company policies
- Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, service and operational performance
About you:
- Experience within a 3PL fulfilment, logistics or shared warehouse environment
- Strong understanding of inventory management, stock accuracy and client ownership controls
- Experience managing SLAs, KPIs and client performance reporting
- Proven project management experience, ideally within an operational or warehouse environment
- Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Experience of continuous improvement and process optimisation
- Confident leading, coaching and developing a team
- IOSH Level 2 or equivalent qualification
- A proactive, results-driven approach with the ability to take ownership and drive operational performance
