We are recruiting for Mechanical Assembly / Strip & Clean Operatives to join a leading engineering and manufacturing company within the rail industry. This is a hands-on, physical role working in a dirty and noisy workshop environment, stripping down, cleaning, and refurbishing brake calipers and related components. This role is ideal for candidates with mechanical, assembly, production, manufacturing, or hands-on experience, as well as those with a strong work ethic looking to develop technical skills. Full training is provided.
Key Duties:
- Stripping down brake calipers and mechanical components
- Cleaning and refurbishing parts ready for reassembly
- Using hand tools to dismantle and rebuild units
- Inspecting components for wear and defects
- Working in a busy production workshop environment
Skills & Experience:
- Mechanical, assembly, or manufacturing experience preferred
- Experience using hand tools (spanners, torque wrenches, etc.)
- Ability to follow instructions and processes
- Comfortable working in a dirty / noisy workshop environment
- Confident using hand tools
