We are recruiting for Mechanical Assembly / Strip & Clean Operatives to join a leading engineering and manufacturing company within the rail industry. This is a hands-on, physical role working in a dirty and noisy workshop environment, stripping down, cleaning, and refurbishing brake calipers and related components. This role is ideal for candidates with mechanical, assembly, production, manufacturing, or hands-on experience, as well as those with a strong work ethic looking to develop technical skills. Full training is provided.

Key Duties:

  • Stripping down brake calipers and mechanical components
  • Cleaning and refurbishing parts ready for reassembly
  • Using hand tools to dismantle and rebuild units
  • Inspecting components for wear and defects
  • Working in a busy production workshop environment

Skills & Experience:

  • Mechanical, assembly, or manufacturing experience preferred
  • Experience using hand tools (spanners, torque wrenches, etc.)
  • Ability to follow instructions and processes
  • Comfortable working in a dirty / noisy workshop environment
  • Confident using hand tools
