Industrial Engineer – Refrigeration & Electrical

Location: Calne, Wiltshire Pay rate: £20.00 - £25.00 p/h DOE Contract: Temporary with intent to become permanent after 6–12 months Hours: Full-time

We’re recruiting for an experienced Industrial / Production Support Engineer to join an established engineering business in Corsham.

This is a technically varied role supporting manufacturing, overhaul, testing, fault finding and new product introduction, acting as the key link between Engineering and Operations.

The Role

You’ll provide specialist engineering support across the workshop, helping resolve complex technical issues, improve processes and introduce new products, equipment and technologies.

Key responsibilities include

  • Advanced fault finding across electrical, refrigeration and HVAC systems.
  • Supporting production, testing and overhaul teams with technical issues.
  • Developing and improving test procedures, work instructions and technical documentation.
  • Supporting product trials, testing and validation activities.
  • Setting up and optimising production cells, tooling and processes.
  • Supporting new product introduction and engineering improvements.
  • Developing and commissioning test equipment.
  • Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and interpreting PLC data.
  • Supporting control panel wiring and electrical assembly.
  • Working with Engineering and Operations to develop practical workshop solutions.
  • Mentoring and coaching workshop and test facility personnel.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement, quality, safety and reliability initiatives.

About You

We’re looking for an experienced engineer with a strong background in manufacturing, maintenance, overhaul or service environments.

Ideally, you will have

  • HND in Electrical Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of refrigeration, HVAC and electrical systems.
  • Experience with electrical fault finding and diagnosis.
  • Experience testing and validating HVAC/refrigeration equipment.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and understand PLC systems.
  • Experience with control panel wiring and electrical assembly.
  • CAD experience.
  • Experience with Windchill or another PLM system would be advantageous.
  • Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and mentoring abilities.
  • Experience producing technical documentation and work instructions.
