Our client is a leading international entertainment business. As the company continues to grow and evolve, they are seeking a practice trained, qualified accountant to take ownership of operational finance across the group. Reporting directly to an accomplished senior finance leader, this role will play a critical part in managing core cost centres and ensuring a robust and efficient month end process.
Key responsibilities include:
- Full ownership of the month end process, including preparation, review and delivery of accurate and timely management information.
- End-to-end responsibility for operational cost centres (e.g., Marketing, Legal, HR, and other support functions), partnering with budget holders to provide insight, challenge and effective cost control.
- Preparation of monthly cost centre reporting, variance analysis and actionable commentary for senior stakeholders.
- Supporting the development and enhancement of reporting tools and processes to improve visibility of operational spending.
- Liaising with international teams to ensure all monthly submissions and data inputs are accurate and aligned with group timelines.
- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting cycles for relevant cost centres, ensuring assumptions are robust and well supported.
- Ensuring intercompany charges and allocations relating to operational areas are accurate and fit for purpose.
Candidate requirements:
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA or equivalent), practice trained, with industry experience and a strong grounding in financial reporting and controls.
- Experience in operational finance, business partnering or cost centre management is highly advantageous.
- Solid knowledge of accounting policies and IFRS, with the ability to apply technical understanding in a commercial context.
- Confident working across multiple stakeholders internationally, with strong communication skills and the ability to challenge constructively.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong systems capability, with the ability to quickly adapt to new tools and reporting platforms.
