A well-known retailer is seeking a Management Accountant to join the team, reporting into the Head of Finance on an initial 6 month contract. In this role, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate production of monthly management accounts, alongside budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting. You will analyse financial performance against budgets, investigating variances and identifying key trends to support the wider business.
You will also ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements (including VAT/Intrastat/Sales Tax), contribute to statutory accounts, and play a key role in strengthening financial controls and processes. In addition, you will partner closely with stakeholders across the business, providing guidance and improving financial understanding to support better decision-making.
You will regularly communicate with the Head of Finance on key risks, issues, and opportunities, offering practical recommendations and solutions where needed.
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, commercially focused finance team within a consumer-driven online business. You must be available to start at short notice.
