Windcat is a leading provider of safe and efficient crew transfer services to the offshore industry, operating at the forefront for more than 20 years. With a growing fleet of over 55 Crew Transfer Vessels (CTVs), 1 Commissioning Service Operation Vessel (CSOV) and 1 Multi-Purpose Accommodation Support Vessel (MPASV), Windcat plays a key role in supporting offshore projects worldwide.
As a CTV Deckhand you will safely transfer wind turbine technicians and other passengers to offshore windfarms as well as undertake cargo operations. You will maintain lookout with the Master and ensure the good maintenance and housekeeping of the vessel alongside the following duties:
- Complete periodical inspections and maintenance of the vessel in accordance with maintenance procedures
- Promote a positive safety culture on board the vessel and be familiar with all safety equipment, requirements, instructions and facilities on board
- Deliver a professional service from start to finish when transferring technicians
- Assist in the on-board administration and recordkeeping
- Undertake onboard training as required and participate in emergency drills
- Assist engineers with vessel maintenance as and when required
- Undertake instruction from the Master
- Undertake instructions from the shoreside management team
Experience
- Previous experience as a deckhand on commercially operated vessels
- Small boat experience
Skills and behaviour
- Work proactively in a small team

- Maintain good housekeeping (clean, tidy and organised)
Technical skills
- Competent with ropework, mooring, bunkering, watchkeeping and vessel planned maintenance

- STCW basic safety training certificates (preferably not older than 4 years):
- Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting STCW A-VI/1-2
- Elementary First Aid STCW A-VI/1-3
- Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities STCW A-VI/1-4
- ENG1 Seafarer medical – Fit for lookout duties must be ticked Yes
- MCA Approved Engine Course (AEC1)
- Navigational Watch Rating Certificate II/4 (Deck)
- Current UK driving license
- Slinger Signaller course (preferably not older than 3 years)
- Automatic External Defibrillator training (AED)
