What you'll be doing:
- Create 3D models, assemblies and detailed manufacturing drawings in SolidWorks.
- Design and develop new products and improve existing designs for performance, cost and manufacturability.
- Produce and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation.
- Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical and efficient to produce.
- Liaise with customers and suppliers on technical queries and design changes.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant standards, quality requirements and health & safety procedures.
What we're looking for:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer / SolidWorks Design Engineer in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (parts, assemblies, drawings, 3D).
- Creative ability.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes, wide range of materials, understanding of machining, fabrication and assembly.
- Ability to interpret and produce engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- HND, Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Desirable: Experience with PDM systems, design for manufacture (DFM).
