CMB Recruitment is working with a long established and successful Accountancy Practice based in Belfast City Centre, seeking an organised Accounting Technician/Bookkeeper to join their friendly team. We are happy to accept CVs from fully or partially qualified IATI candidates or those without these qualifications but with significant practical experience.
THE ROLE
- Manage day-to-day accounting processes for a portfolio of clients.
- Prepare VAT returns.
- Assist with year-end accounts prep for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
- Reconcile bank accounts, control accounts, and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare management accounts, journals, accruals/prepayments, and fixed asset registers.
- Support payroll processing.
- Liaise with clients to request information, answer queries, and deliver great service.
- Maintain neat working papers and ensure compliance with practice procedures.
THE PERSON
- IATI fully or partially qualified, equally we will consider applicants with strong relevant practical bookkeeping/accounting experience.
- A minimum of 3 years in practice (open to strong industry candidates with transferable skills).
- Excellent Excel and Microsoft Word skills; comfortable learning new systems.
- High attention to detail, deadline-driven, and able to manage multiple clients.
- Clear communicator who enjoys working with people as much as with spreadsheets.
