Due to continued growth, we are looking for a motivated Accounting Technician who is either fully qualified or currently studying towards their qualification to join our busy and supportive team. The Role
As an Accounting Technician, you'll work closely with senior accountants and managers, providing a high-quality service to a varied client base. This is a hands-on role offering excellent exposure to accounts preparation, bookkeeping, VAT, payroll and client interaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
- Bookkeeping using cloud-based accounting software
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns
- Processing payroll and pension submissions
- Assisting with management accounts
- Liaising with clients to obtain financial information and resolve queries
- Supporting senior accountants with client assignments
- Ensuring work is completed accurately and within deadlines
- Maintaining excellent client relationships
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
- Qualified Accounting Technician (ATI) or currently studying towards an Accounting Technician qualification
- An experienced bookkeeper will also be considered
- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice is preferred
- Familiar with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks or similar
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Eager to learn and develop professionally
Desirable
- Experience preparing statutory accounts
- Knowledge of cloud accounting software
- Experience dealing directly with clients
- Payroll experience
- Corporation Tax and Personal Tax exposure (beneficial but not essential)
