Our client is an Engineering, Manufacturing and Design Company based in Co Down within easy commute of Belfast, developing industry leading products. Our client is seeking to expand the Design and Engineering functions within the organisation. We are now looking for a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Engineering Design Team and using 3D modelling and Design for Manufacture, produce exciting and innovative designs.

THE ROLE

  • Using leading design software, you will be expected to produce customer led designs for new and existing products.
  • Produce full manufacturing specification drawings (DFM) to meet the needs of product transfer through the manufacturing process.
  • Interface with manufacturing and engineering to ensure a quick and error free introduction of changes and new design is achieved.
  • Work within a highly regulated environment and meet all quality standards for the company’s processes.
  • Ensure current and new products meet standards and performance levels specified for safety, function, and reliability.

THE PERSON

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience, designing in an engineering and manufacturing environment.
  • Competent in the use of at least one leading design package such as SolidWorks, Catia, ProE etc.
  • Able to confidently use 3D modelling.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
