Our client is a leading Belfast-based engineering company, supplying and installing specialist equipment to customers around the world. Due to continued growth, they now wish to recruit an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis.

THE ROLE

  • Commission and install the company's equipment at customer sites worldwide.
  • Travel required approximately 50% of the year on average, with trips ranging from a few days to several weeks depending on the project.
  • Carry out testing, fault-finding, and fine-tuning of equipment on-site to ensure it meets customer requirements.
  • Provide hands-on training to customers' operational staff on the correct use and maintenance of the equipment.
  • Liaise closely with internal engineering, production, and project teams before and during each installation.
  • Complete commissioning reports, handover documentation, and customer sign-off paperwork.
  • Provide first-line technical support and troubleshooting for customers post-installation.
  • Represent the company professionally at all times while working on customer sites internationally.
  • Full training will be provided for the company's product range.

THE PERSON

  • Minimum HNC in an Engineering discipline (Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, or related) essential.
  • Previous experience in a commissioning, service, or field engineering role is highly desirable.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally on a regular basis, including at short notice.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills, with the confidence to work independently on-site.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers from different cultures and backgrounds.
  • A valid passport with no travel restrictions, and a full driving licence.
  • Comfortable working under pressure and adapting to changing environments and time zones.
