CMB Recruitment is working with a global manufacturing company, currently seeking an experienced Production Manager for their North Down facility. The successful candidate will plan and oversee multi line manufacturing to ensure the efficient use of resources, manage quality and ensure production deadlines are met. The Production Manager will manage a team of 60, liaise across multiple departments and report directly to the Operations Manager.
THE ROLE
- Day to day responsibility for production and scheduling functions
- Ensure H&S, Quality and Environmental standards are constantly met
- Effective utilisation of resources to meet production schedules efficiently and meet customer deadlines
- Stock management using ERP system
- Reporting on KPIs and developing KPIs in line with future state objectives
- Streamline production where possible using lean manufacturing principles
- Ensure timely and accurate communication with other departments and stakeholders
- Manage and develop a diverse team of 60 employees including Supervisors, Team Leaders and Operators.
THE PERSON
- Strong relevant experience of successfully managing a multi-line shop floor
- Experience of implementing continuous improvement initiatives
- Experience of manufacturing products under ISO9001/ISO14001
- Proven experience of managing and reporting on production KPIs and suggesting appropriate improvements
- Be a strong problem solver, coming up with practical solutions to production issues
- Be able to successfully manage and develop a team of varying experience
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- A third level qualification in Engineering, Production Management or similar would be beneficial but not essential, likewise a Six Sigma qualification
- Knowledge of ERP systems
