CMB Recruitment is working with a global manufacturing company, currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with plastics process experience for their North Down facility. The successful candidate will undertake continuous improvement projects to maximise resources and improve the efficiency of production. The Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with the Innovation Team, helping to bring new products into production.

THE ROLE

  • Design, prove, implement and/or maintain production systems to deliver products on time to quality and cost requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement activities in quality, cycle times, process improvement and machine availability through lean techniques and value engineering to enhance the capability of existing processes and remove waste.
  • Support product design for manufacture and assembly activities.
  • Support cutting tool selection/design, work holding tool design and mould design, and validation plans to ensure robust and comprehensive technical solutions.
  • Analyse and improve material usage, downtime, and identify trends and develop solutions.
  • Ensure accuracy of manufacturing engineering procedures, documentation, and systems data.

THE PERSON

  • Hold a third level qualification in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a manufacturing process engineering role with specific plastics experience.
  • Experience of understanding and implementing lean manufacturing principles and ideally hold a relevant qualification, Six Sigma etc.
  • Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong IT skills, ERP etc.
  • Eagerness to identify and implement process improvements.
