Hybrid - 3 days in office of which 1 day in our Alderley Park office. We're looking for an IT Manager to take full ownership of CMap's internal IT function. This is a hands-on, player-manager role — you'll run the day-to-day IT operation, lead our IT Analyst, and be the business owner of our ISO 27001 accreditation and Cyber Essentials Plus certification. Reporting directly to the Technology and Infrastructure Director, you'll be a key voice in technology decisions and have real scope to shape how IT runs at CMap. It's not a maintenance role — it's an ownership role.
Key Responsibilities- Running IT Day-to-Day: Leading operations across hardware, software, identity, networking and endpoints. Staying hands-on — resolving escalated incidents and keeping the business running smoothly. Administering and improving Microsoft 365, Azure Identity, Intune, Defender and Cisco Meraki.
- Owning Information Security: Acting as business owner of CMap's ISO 27001 ISMS — audits, controls, risk register, the lot. Leading the annual Cyber Essentials Plus certification and owning the BSI relationship.
- Leading the Team: Line-managing and developing our IT Analyst. Building a function that runs well whether you're in the room or not.
- Contributing to Strategy: Working with the CTO on IT roadmap and strategy. Managing vendor contracts and leading IT projects including new tooling rollouts.
- Experience leading IT operations in an enterprise software or SaaS environment.
- Real, hands-on ISO 27001 ISMS and Cyber Essentials Plus experience.
- Strong technical skills across Microsoft 365, Azure Identity, Intune, Defender and Cisco Meraki.
- A track record of managing or developing a small technical team.
- Confident communicator — comfortable with auditors, vendors and senior stakeholders.
- Calm under pressure, well-organised and able to balance the urgent with the important.
