One morning you're coaching a manager through a tricky probation conversation. That afternoon you're rebuilding an onboarding journey or finding the story in your people data for the leadership team. If you're a generalist who has done the lot and enjoys being properly involved in how a business runs, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to our HR Manager, you'll be the go-to HR expert across the business.

We are looking for someone progressive and forward-thinking, who can engage our senior team and show the real impact HR can make. You'll be part of our wider People team and work closely with our management team, who will benefit from your:

What you'll be doing

Leading employee relations cases end to end: performance, probation, absence, grievance and disciplinary
Coaching managers so they can confidently handle difficult conversations and own the people side of their roles
Keeping our HR policies clear, current and in line with legislation
Shaping how we work. From change management and organisation design to absence management, talent analytics and employee engagement, you'll guide our people practices.
Looking after our HR system and people data, and turning that data into insight for our Management Team
Helping shape management training, competency frameworks and appraisals
Getting involved in culture, engagement and internal comms

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Generalist HR experience across the full employee lifecycle, ideally in a small or mid-sized business where you've covered the whole HR remit
A track record of leading ER processes yourself, not just supporting them
Solid working knowledge of UK employment law, applied with common sense.
Commercial awareness: you understand HR is there to help a business run well
Empathy, emotional intelligence and a collaborative, roll-your-sleeves-up approach
CIPD Level 5 is a bonus, but not essential.
