Established in 1932 and situated within the magnificent Ashridge Estate in the Chiltern Hills, Ashridge is one of England’s most respected private members’ golf clubs. Renowned for its outstanding championship course, exceptional facilities and warm, understated atmosphere, the Club combines a proud golfing heritage with a progressive outlook.
Following the retirement of its long-serving General Manager after ten successful years, Ashridge offers an exceptional opportunity to lead a thriving and financially secure Club, supported by a loyal membership, committed Board and experienced management team.
THE ROLE
The incoming General Manager will provide visible, engaging leadership across all aspects of the Club’s operations, ensuring the continued delivery of an exceptional member experience whilst helping shape Ashridge’s long-term future.
Working closely with the Chairman and Board, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing inspirational leadership and developing a collaborative, high-performing team.
- Maintaining exceptional standards across golf, clubhouse, hospitality and estate operations.
- Building trusted relationships with members, colleagues and key stakeholders.
- Supporting the delivery of the Club’s strategic, financial and course development plans.
- Ensuring sound financial management, effective governance and operational excellence.
- Identifying opportunities for thoughtful improvement whilst preserving the Club’s traditions and distinctive character.
