Experience payroll professional with a passion for systems optimisation? An established organisation in north Portsmouth is seeking a Payroll & Systems Manager to lead their payroll function and enhance their HR and payroll systems.
Responsibilities
- Leading the end‐to‐end payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with UK legislation, while driving system enhancements.
- Acting as the expert resource for payroll queries, supporting staff and management with payroll and system‐related issues.
- Managing and developing payroll systems, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements.
- Collaborating with HR and Finance teams to optimise data flow, reporting, and audit processes.
- Supporting system upgrades, new implementations, and ongoing system health to foster continual improvement.
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing payroll operations within the UK, with a solid understanding of PAYE, NIC, pensions, and statutory payments.
- Strong technical expertise with payroll systems, including implementation or improvement projects.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical capabilities, and problem‐solving skills.
- Confident communicator, able to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience supervising or supporting team members is advantageous but not essential.
