Bookkeeper - temporary position
A local accountancy practice specialising in a variety of client sectors is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper for a temporary position based in Cowplain. Responsibilities
- Managing day‑to‑day bookkeeping for multiple clients, ensuring accurate and timely financial records
- Assisting with VAT returns, CIS, and payroll processing, helping the team maintain compliance and meet client deadlines
- Supporting month‑end and quarter‑end processes, contributing to financial reporting accuracy
- Collaborating with clients and internal teams to enhance efficiency and ensure smooth financial workflows
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of accounting procedures within the practice
Qualifications
- Demonstrates solid experience with bookkeeping, VAT, and CIS procedures, ideally within a multi‑client environment
- Possesses strong attention to detail and organisational skills to manage multiple accounts effectively
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced practice setting
- Has good communication skills, able to liaise with clients and team members confidently
- Shows a proactive approach to problem‑solving and process optimisation
