Are you an organised, detail-driven accountant who thrives in a fast-paced environment? A well known household brand is looking for an Assistant Accountant to join its busy and growing finance team.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a dynamic finance function, supporting efficient financial close processes while helping to shape smarter, more insightful reporting across the business.

What will the Assistant Accountant role involve?

  • Ownership of payroll and overhead journals, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Analysis of spend trends and performance versus budget, producing clear and insightful variance commentary
  • Support for month-end close activities and involvement in internal and external audits
  • Building, maintaining, and enhancing complex Excel models, dashboards, and automated reporting tools
  • Driving improvements in reporting efficiency and data accuracy across the Finance function
  • Training and supporting colleagues within Accounting & Controllership on Excel best practice

Suitable Candidate for the Assistant Accountant vacancy

  • Qualified or part-qualified status (ACCA / CIMA)
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar accounting role within a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced Excel capability, including Pivot Tables, Power Query, Power Pivot, complex formulas and VBA
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • A collaborative mindset with confidence communicating across teams
