YOUR ROLE
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced and skilled Warehouse Solution Design Engineer at our customer’s automotive site in Solihull. This role involves linking onsite material planning and logistics activities with CEVA functional teams to deliver project requirements. You will respond and plan for changes in the supply chain caused by demand variances, costs, or customer challenges. This pivotal role is based at our Solihull operation, Monday to Friday, with flexibility required depending on project needs, including weekend work.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
- Calculating the volumes and flows of parts throughout the operation (PREP).
- Conducting regular resource planning to identify and fulfill resource and skill requirements.
- Designing parts layout in the warehouse and lineside environments considering LEAN methodologies.
- Collaborating with production and operational teams to identify suitable delivery methods.
- Providing detailed logistics support as requested by the customer.
- Benchmarking and reviewing current operations to ensure best-in-class service.
- Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
- Supporting the development of the planning master schedule.
- Assisting with ERP system development, testing, and reporting issues.
- Ensuring timely delivery of projects, highlighting risks, and providing solutions.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
You should have proven experience in warehouse planning or solutions design, with a track record of designing and deploying operational improvements and projects. A strong understanding of operational layouts and environments, ideally in fast-paced, changing settings, is essential. You must be an excellent communicator and problem-solver, with an interest in continuous improvement, LEAN methodologies, and solutions design. Ability to build relationships at all levels and confidence in preparing and presenting reports and operational plans are required. Proficiency in MS Office and relevant software is necessary, and experience with AutoCAD or MTM software is desirable but not essential.
