CEVA Logistics has been awarded a major new contract with a high-profile client, marking an exciting phase of growth for the business expanding on our ecommerce offering. This is a new build implementation offering exciting opportunities across contract logistics. As a result, we have an excellent role for an Outbound Team Leader to support the safe, accurate and on-time execution of outbound operations within a high-volume ecommerce site based in Derby. This is a hands-on operational role, responsible for leading front-line teams to deliver picking, sorting, loading, and dispatch activities in line with service cut-off times, quality standards and productivity targets. Fixed shift available for this role is: Tuesday to Saturday‑ 2pm to 10pm.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

Reporting into Outbound Shift Manager, you will take day-to-day responsibility for outbound execution across your assigned work areas, ensuring work is completed right first time and that customer service and network flow are protected throughout the shift, with key responsibilities for:

  • Leading outbound associates across pick, sortation, loading and dispatch areas
  • Allocating tasks and managing workflow to maintain smooth outbound flow
  • Ensuring outbound volumes are processed accurately and dispatched on time
  • Reinforcing safety standards, standard work and quality checks at all times
  • Escalating delays, service risks or constraints promptly to the Outbound Shift Manager
  • Providing day-to-day supervision, coaching and direction to associates
  • Supporting onboarding, training and buddying of new starters
  • Monitoring attendance, timekeeping and basic conduct or performance issues
  • Supporting accurate system transactions, paperwork and shift handovers
  • Identifying inefficiencies and supporting continuous improvement activity
  • Support the Outbound Shift Manager with any additional tasks as and when required

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

To be successful in your application you will be able to demonstrate the following experience, skills and behaviours:

  • Experience of working in a warehousing or logistics environment
  • Experience of leading, supporting and coaching operational teams
  • Exposure to outbound, picking, packing, sorting, or dispatch operations
  • Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
  • Confident communicator with a calm and supportive leadership style

Desirable skills:

  • Basic WMS or scanning system experience
  • Exposure to lean or continuous improvement approaches
  • Proven experience of high-volume or peak operations
  • Experience of working in an ecommerce environment
