YOUR ROLE
Are you ready to kickstart your career in finance? We have an incredible opportunity for a University Placement Student to join our analytically focused finance department for a 12-month programme. This is an amazing opportunity to gain invaluable hands-on experience and master a wide range of financial processes. You will work alongside industry professionals, participate in exciting projects and develop skills that will set you apart in the competitive world of financial accounting.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Throughout your 12-month placement, you will spend time across our finance teams to gain insights into elements of the financial department. You will work on a rotational basis across the following departments:
- Cash team
- Accounts Payable Department
- Record to Report Team
- Tax department
- Financial Planning and Analysis Department
- Financial and Business Control Team
During this rotation, you will work alongside different stakeholders and will be involved in any new projects and initiatives that will help you to gain a comprehensive understanding of billing and credit control processes. You will delve into month-end procedures and develop a detailed understanding of financial reporting. You can also expect to have wider exposure to tax compliance and audit processes which will ensure you grasp the essentials of financial integrity and regulatory adherence. You will gain insights into financial reporting, accurately raising invoices and processing payments whilst liaising with stakeholders to address and resolve any invoice related queries. You will also get the opportunity to enhance your analytical skills by contributing to financial forecasting, budgeting and cost management.
Throughout your time in each department, you will be fully immersed in financial processes, learning systems, and best practices to ensure you leave your placement with new knowledge and skills to take forward in your final year of studies and your future career.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Our ideal candidate will be studying a Financial, Business or Accounting related Degree and looking for a 3rd-year placement opportunity to gain valuable work experience. We are looking for someone with excellent numeracy and analytical skills, a keen eye for detail and a logical, problem-solving mindset. You should be proficient in Microsoft packages, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. Advanced Excel skills, such as pivot tables and VLOOKUP, are also highly desirable. You must also have a strong willingness to learn alongside excellent communication skills. As CEVA operates numerous sites across the UK, it is essential that you hold a driving license to visit these locations.
