The Business Development Manager - Intermodal is accountable for the commercial development of the Deep Sea Inland Carrier Haulage Product in the UK & Ireland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively engage with Commercial teams and customers to identify their Intermodal requirements and match with ILS UK&I Product offering.
  • Design and implement customer specific Intermodal setups.
  • Propose operational/commercial improvements to ILS GM.
  • Build and effectively manage relationships with key external stakeholders, e.g. Customers, Hauliers, Depot Operators, Ports.
  • Be a key point of contact for Senior management within UK&I, European Region and Head Office for intermodal commercial matters.
  • Ensure Inland Pricing strategy is in line with ILS and market conditions.
  • Provide daily Inland haulage quotes as required.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement by reviewing processes and recommending improvements.
  • Promote ILS UK & Ireland products and services to internal stakeholders.
  • Deputise for other ILS Management team members as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Extensive experience within the transport/logistics industry.
  • Demonstrable commercial/business development experience within an intermodal/transport/logistics industry.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build rapport with key stakeholders.
  • Strong personal resilience and organisational skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills, able to work confidently with data.
  • Strong geographical knowledge of the UK.
  • Full UK driving licence, with flexibility to travel as required.
