As a Transport Planner, you will be part of a dedicated team responsible for routing and coordinating container movements across road, rail, and feeder services. Your mission is to ensure every transport is planned efficiently, cost-effectively, and in line with vendor and customer requirements.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Planning and dispatching daily UK transport across road, rail, and feeder networks
- Maximising efficiency through smart routing and cost-effective decision-making
- Liaising with hauliers, rail partners, internal teams, and key transport accounts
- Ensuring allocations are met and any additional costs are captured promptly
- Providing updates, resolving service issues, and supporting colleagues during absences
- Feeding back performance insights and helping maintain operational excellence
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Experience in the transport or logistics industry would be highly advantageous
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to stay calm and organised in a fast-paced environment
- A team-focused attitude with the ability to work independently as required
- Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail
- Solid MS Office capability; Destin8/CNS experience is a bonus
- Strong UK geographical awareness
