  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for the Data Platform—including trusted, scalable, AI‑ready foundations built on technologies such as Databricks and Redshift.
  • Build and lead a distributed, multi‑disciplinary team of 150–200 engineers and data specialists across European locations, designing, delivering, and operating internal data products with a focus on reliability, cost efficiency, and engineering productivity.
  • Partner with leaders across Product and Engineering in a "two‑in‑a‑box" model to ensure platform roadmaps align with business priorities.
  • Define the data architecture and governance model that makes Flutter’s data AI‑ready, ensuring quality, accessibility, and lineage needed to power machine learning and generative AI use cases safely and at scale.
  • Champion a "platform‑as‑a‑product" approach, focused on delivering capabilities that are leveraged across the organisation.
  • Drive key technical and architectural decisions for the data landscape, enabling AI and ML adoption downstream.
  • Own the budget, workforce planning, and supplier management for your domains.
  • Actively contribute to the Enablement Leadership Team, shaping our strategy, operating model, and culture.

How you’ll do it

  • Proven Technology Leader – significant senior level track record leading Data Platform engineering in a complex, fast‑paced environment, ideally at scale with distributed teams across Europe.
  • Strategic Programme Delivery – strong experience delivering Data Platform programmes from concept to value realisation, unlocking analytics and AI capabilities.
  • Technical Depth – deep expertise in modern data platforms and engineering, hands‑on experience with Databricks, Redshift, data governance, cloud architecture, and ML‑enablement knowledge.
  • Platform Experience – successfully built and scaled central technology platforms, shifting teams from project to product‑oriented operating models leveraging platforms like Redshift and Databricks.
  • Strategic Thinker – create a compelling vision that connects business needs with technology solutions and execute against it.
  • Exceptional People Leader – passion for developing talent, proven ability to attract, retain, and grow top data engineers and leaders across distributed, multi‑site European teams.
  • Highly Collaborative – build trust and influence at all levels, work effectively in matrixed environments, particularly in a "two‑in‑a‑box" product and engineering structure.
